Helen Zhu

Helen Zhu oversees NF Trinity as its Managing Partner & Chief Investment Officer. NF Trinity manages portfolios of public (equities and FICC direct) and private (funds and direct) investments, across multiple geographies and sectors. Helen is also a member of the Finance & Investment Committee of the Nan Fung Group.

Before joining NF Trinity in 2019, Helen was Head of China Equities for BlackRock, based in Hong Kong. Her responsibilities included managing various portfolios, overseeing China related research idea generation for Asia/emerging market portfolios, and developing the China active investments business. Helen participated in the BlackRock Investment Council, the Emerging Markets Investment Council, the firmwide Geopolitical Risk Committee, and was a board member of the BlackRock onshore China entities.

Before joining BlackRock in 2014, Helen spent eight years at Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong. In her most recent role as Chief China Strategist, she focused on setting Goldman Sachs’ market views for China, identifying key investment themes, and representing the firm to its clients across various mediums. Prior to this role, Helen was Goldman Sachs’ Business Unit leader for the Asia Telecom/Internet sector research team and Head of Asia Telecom Research team. Helen joined Goldman Sachs from ABN AMRO, where she spent five years and was head of the Asian Telecom Research team. Helen had previously also worked in private investing for a corporation and in investment banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in Hong Kong and New York. She was educated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Helen serves on the advisory board of the Investment Office of the International Monetary Fund and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Milton Academy. She is also an advisory council member of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government and an advisory board member of the MIT Sandbox Innovation Fund program. She is additionally a Fellow of the 2024 Class of the Aspen Institute’s China Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. She previously served on the advisory board of BlackRock Private Equity Partners. Helen and her husband have lived in Hong Kong since 1999 and have four daughters.

Kenny Chan

Kenny Chan joined NF Trinity in 2010 and is currently the Partner – Head of Public Investment Team. Kenny is involved in the firm’s public securities investments.

Before joining NF Trinity, Kenny was a metals and mining analyst at the Royal Bank of Scotland. He also held positions as a special situation buy-side analyst with Standard Bank, and as a telecom and internet analyst with Merrill Lynch.

Kenny holds a MSc in Finance and Economics from the University of Warwick and is a CFA and CAIA charter holder.

Meng Zhou

Meng Zhou joined Nan Fung in 2017 and is currently the Partner – Head of Private Investment Team. Meng is involved in the firm’s private fund and direct investments.

Before joining Nan Fung, Meng was a Senior Associate at Alpinvest Partners where he evaluated and executed fund investments across Asia Pacific. Before AlpInvest, he was an Associate at Oaktree Capital covering private equity investments in Asia. Prior to that, he worked in investment banking at Credit Suisse in New York and Hong Kong.

Meng received a BS in Biomedical Engineering and a MS in Operations Research from Columbia University.

Dick Wei

Dick Wei joined NF Trinity in 2020. Dick is involved in the firm’s public securities investments.

Before joining NF Trinity, he was the Chief Strategy Officer of Ele.me (acquired by Alibaba), where he directed Ele.me’s corporate strategy and corporate investment. Prior to that, he was Managing Director at Credit Suisse, and Head of Internet and New Media Sector Research at J.P. Morgan Asia Pacific (excluding Japan), where he led the Internet, new media, and education sector research teams at both firms. Mr. Wei was named the No.1 Asia Internet Research Analyst numerous times by Institutional Investor (II) Magazine. He also worked at Merrill Lynch and Quantum Corporation in the US.

Mr. Wei graduated from University of Washington and Stanford University with engineering degrees, and an MBA degree from Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania.

Charles Fang

Charles Fang joined NF Trinity in 2020. Charles is involved in the firm’s public securities investments.

Before joining NF Trinity, Charles was a macro strategist at SeaTown Holdings in Singapore, where he was responsible for global multi-asset allocation and macro top-down research. He co-managed a macro portfolio focusing on equities, bonds, FX & rates strategies using ETFs, futures and swaps. Prior to that, he was an EM/Asia equity strategist at Goldman Sachs.

Charles holds a MS degree in Financial Engineering, Ph.D. and B.Eng in Electrical & Electronics from Nanyang Technological University.

Gavin So

Gavin So is a director focusing on the firm’s private fund and direct investments.

Prior to joining NF Trinity in 2020, Gavin was a Vice President at Lone Star Funds, focusing on private equity, special situations, distressed and real estate investments in Asia-Pacific. Previously, he was a founding member of the real estate investment team at China Merchants Capital. Gavin started his career as an investment banking analyst at Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong.

Gavin received a B.B.A. from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business and a B.A. in Political Science from the College of Literature, Science and the Arts at the University of Michigan.

Herman Leung

Herman Leung joined NF Trinity in 2024. Herman is involved in the firm’s public securities investment.

Before joining NF Trinity, he was a Portfolio Manager at SFG Asset Advisors, a family office based in San Francisco, where he oversaw a diversified long/short equities investment strategy. Prior to that, he held positions as a Senior Analyst covering Global Tech at Artisan Partners, a long-only fund, and as a Principal focused on Internet stocks at Partner Fund Management, a long/short hedge fund in San Francisco.

Before the buyside, Herman was an Internet Equity Research Analyst at Deutsche Bank Securities and Susquehanna International Group. He began his career in corporate finance as a technology investment banking analyst at Thomas Weisel Partners (now Stifel Financial).

Herman received his BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Andrew Hao

Andrew Hao joined NF Trinity in 2020. Andrew is the trader for the firm’s public securities investments.

Before joining NF Trinity, Andrew was the Head of Trading at Parantoux Capital and Sylebra Capital, both of which are fundamental long/short equity hedge funds based in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he was a precious metal market maker at HSBC and a US execution trader at BOCI.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and Management from London School of Economics and Political Science.

Jack Guan

Jack Guan is a Director focusing on the firm’s private fund and direct investments.

Before joining NF Trinity in 2020, Jack was an Associate at Primavera Capital, a leading China-based Private Equity firm, where he evaluated various buyout and growth equity investment opportunities across multiple regions. Before Primavera, he worked in investment banking at Credit Suisse in Hong Kong covering the TMT sector in Asia. Prior to that, he worked in investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York.

Jack graduated from University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Finance, Accounting and Mathematics. Jack is also a CFA charter holder.

Yvonne Chow

Yvonne Chow joined NF Trinity in 2019. Yvonne is involved in the firm’s public securities investments.

Before joining NF Trinity, Yvonne was an investment professional with a family office. Prior to that, she was a Telecom research analyst at Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan and ABN AMRO in Hong Kong.

Yvonne holds a MEng in Manufacturing Engineering from University of Cambridge.

Rong Du

Rong Du joined NF Trinity in 2021. Rong is involved in the firm’s private fund and direct investments.

Before joining NF Trinity, Rong was a Senior Associate at Portfolio Advisors, a private markets manager headquartered in the US, where she evaluated and executed investment opportunities in private equity funds, secondary transactions, and co-investments across Asia Pacific. Prior to Portfolio Advisors, she was an auditor at Deloitte in London and Hong Kong, focusing on financial institutions.

Rong received a BSc in Accounting and Finance from London School of Economics and Political Science.

Dudu Hong

Dudu Hong joined NF Trinity in 2015. Dudu is involved in the firm’s public securities investments.

She joined Nan Fung Group as a Management Trainee in 2013 where she spent a 2-year rotation program across investment-related functions.

Dudu holds a BSc degree in Economics and Finance from University of Hong Kong and is a CFA charter holder.

Calvin Tan

Calvin Tan joined NF Trinity in 2019. Calvin is involved in the firm’s public securities investments.

Before joining NF Trinity, Calvin was a research associate with a European investment bank in Hong Kong, focusing on Internet companies.

Calvin holds a BBA degree from City University of Hong Kong.

Sylvia Yin

Sylvia Yin joined NF Trinity in 2023. Sylvia is involved in the firm’s public securities investments.

Before joining NF Trinity, Sylvia worked as an investment analyst in Sea Capital, the investment arm of Sea Limited, where she was responsible for private equity investment in media and gaming globally, as well as internet and consumer sectors in emerging markets. Prior to that, Sylvia worked as an investment research analyst in Composite Capital Management, focusing on public market investment in internet and consumer sectors in China and emerging markets.

Sylvia holds a Bachelor degree of Economics and Finance from the University of Hong Kong.

Coco Zhang

Coco Zhang joined NF Trinity in 2023, currently focusing on the firm’s private fund and direct investments.

Before joining NF Trinity, Coco was an associate at the private equity arm of Goldman Sachs (formerly known as GS PIA), where she evaluated various growth equity and buyout investment opportunities in Asia. Prior to that, she worked in investment banking team at Citi Hong Kong.

Coco received a B.S. degree from Cornell University, with double major in Applied Economics and Management and Information Science.

Wendy Wen

Wendy Wen joined NF Trinity in 2023 and is involved in the firm’s public securities investments.

Before joining NF Trinity, Wendy worked at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, where she primarily covered China Industrials. Prior to that, Wendy worked at Goldman Sachs equity research, focusing on MENA petrochemicals.

Wendy holds a BA in Economics from Wuhan University, and an MS in Management from London Business School and Fudan University.

Yuan Zhao

Yuan Zhao joined NF Trinity in 2024, currently focusing on the firm’s private fund and direct investments. Before joining NF Trinity, Yuan worked in investment banking at Citi Hong Kong in the TMT team. Yuan received a B.S. degree from Vanderbilt University, with a double major in Economics and Psychology.

Pierre Wong

Pierre Wong joined NF Trinity in 2021 as a data scientist on the investment team.

Before joining NF Trinity, Pierre worked for JP Morgan Asset Management, where he produced data-driven insights using big data and machine learning. Before JP Morgan, Pierre was a data scientist at Circleup in San Francisco where he developed predictive models to analyze investments. Prior to that, he was an engineer at Intel Corporation.

Pierre holds a MEng and a BS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from UC Berkeley.

Zhiyi Lu

Zhiyi Lu joined NF Trinity in 2024 as a Data Scientist on the investment team.

Before joining NF Trinity, Zhiyi served as the head of quant at Lighthorse Asset Management, an equities long/short hedge fund based in Hong Kong. In this role, he developed data-driven strategies that combined fundamental insights with AI techniques. Prior to that, Zhiyi was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Hong Kong.

Zhiyi received his Ph.D degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Hong Kong, and B.Eng from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is also a CFA charter holder.

Yoyo Cheng

Yoyo Cheng joined NF Trinity in 2022 and is currently a research & data associate on the investment team. Before joining NF Trinity, Yoyo was a data analyst in Bloomberg, where she produced data-driven insights and automated visualizations with Python.

Yoyo holds a MSc in Business Analytics from Columbia University and a BS double degree in physics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and University of Maryland.

Tom Lee

Tom Lee joined NF Trinity in 2022 as Data Engineer on the investment team.

Before joining NF Trinity, Tom served FWD Group as a full-stack developer in Group Transformation and Integration Department. Before FWD Group, Tom was an AI engineer in Intact Financial, responsible for machine learning model and pipeline deployment as well as preparing visualization dashboard for Intact Investment Management.

Tom holds a BSc degree in Computer Science from The University of Hong Kong.

Janet Hung

Janet Hung is the Chief Operating Officer at NF Trinity. She manages and handles the daily business operations of the company, working closely with department heads to support the day-to-day activities.

Prior to joining NF Trinity, she spent 15 years in PAG where her last position was the Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer, focusing on Credit and Markets strategy of the firm. PAG is a leading Pan-Asia focused alternative investment company. She has extensive experience on developing financial strategies for investment portfolios and funds, as well as designing and structuring of investment funds.

Before joining PAG, Janet commenced her professional career at Ernst & Young, where she focused on the audit of investment funds for four years. She also worked at JP Morgan’s Asia Equities Financial Control team before.

Janet graduated with first-class honor in BSc Management from London School of Economics and Political Science. She is a fellow member of ACCA.

Leslie Kei

Leslie Kei joined NF Trinity in 2011. Leslie runs the operation of the firm’s public and private portfolio.

Before joining NF Trinity, Leslie worked for Citigroup Global Markets Asia Limited, where he spent 6 years and 4 years at interest rate derivatives middle office and cash equity middle office respectively.

Leslie studied Economics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Vince Suen

Vince Suen joined NF Trinity in 2024.

Vince brings extensive experience in wealth management, having held several positions at reputable financial institutions such as Bank of Singapore, Citibank, HSBC, and DBS. His previous roles include Head of Investment Advisory, Cluster Head, and Market Head.

Vince holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Sydney. He is also a Certified Private Wealth Professional (CPWP).

Arthur Liu

Mr. Liu joined NF Trinity in 2024 as a Director.

Beginning his career at Arthur Andersen, Mr. Liu has amassed extensive experience working for esteemed institutions such as N.M. Rothschild, Citi Private Bank, DBS Private Bank, and PwC. His professional journey involved providing investment banking, wealth management, and consulting services to Chinese family businesses and individuals across mainland China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Mr. Liu also co-founded an RMB private equity fund that specialized in growth stage investments.

Mr. Liu holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Accounting from the University of International Business and Economics.

Stella Chiu

Stella Chiu joined NF Trinity in 2022 and is a Director – Partnership & Strategy.

Prior to joining NF Trinity, she held business development and investor relations roles at a number of alternative investment firms, including a multi-strategy hedge fund and a growth equity firm. She has experience facing a variety of institutional and HNW investors / clients in HK, China and abroad. Stella began her career advising a broad range of asset management firms on their market positioning and stakeholder communication strategies.

Stella holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Melbourne.

Mike Lee

Mike Lee joined NF Trinity in 2024.

Prior to his role at NF Trinity, Mike served as Investor Relations at a Long-Bias Hedge Fund based in Hong Kong, where he covered global institutional investors, including Sovereign Wealth Funds, Endowments, and Pension Funds, across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. Mike began his career as a private banker at renowned institutions such as Citibank and HSBC.

Mike holds an MBA from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and an Honors Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Toronto.

Christina Hui

Christina joined NF Trinity in 2017 and is currently an Assistant General Counsel. Christina is primarily responsible for the legal aspect of the firm’s private fund and direct investments.

Before joining NF Trinity, Christina was a Counsel at Clifford Chance where she specialized in private equity and M&A with a pan-Asia focus. She advised on a range of joint venture, capital raising, asset transfers, takeover, and other corporate and commercial transactions across industries and jurisdictions. Prior to that, she worked in the corporate team at Corrs Chambers Westgarth in Perth.

Christina received a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia. She was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong and Australia.

Brian Cheng

Brian Cheng joined NF Trinity in 2018. As senior counsel, Brian advises on the firm’s private fund and direct investments, multi-strategy hedge fund and regulatory matters.

Before joining NF Trinity, Brian was an associate at Clifford Chance where he represented private equity funds, public and private companies and financial institutions on cross-border M&A transactions, leveraged buyouts, minority investments and other corporate matters.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Laws from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong. He has also passed all three levels of the CFA program.

Karmen Chan

Karmen Chan joined NF Trinity in 2022 as a Senior Compliance Officer, focusing on a variety of compliance and regulatory related matters.

Before joining NF Trinity, Karmen was a Senior Compliance Manager at Bank of Montreal Global Asset Management (Asia) Limited. Her responsibilities included handling various SFC regulatory enquiries and reporting, corporate and individual licensing related matters and compliance reviews. Prior to that, she was VP of APAC Core Compliance at J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, where she was responsible for the implementation of the firm’s global compliance program. She had also worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers Hong Kong as an auditor.

Karmen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in Accountancy from the City University of Hong Kong and is qualified as a Hong Kong CPA in 2010.

Karen Yeung

Karen joined NF Trinity in 2021 as a Compliance Officer to provide support on business and regulatory compliance functions. Prior to joining NF Trinity, Karen worked as a Compliance Analyst at asset management firms including Franklin Templeton Investments and Pinebridge Investments, where she focused on handling regulatory enquiries, licensing related matter, survey and questionnaires, investment breach, compliance monitoring and marketing materials review.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Accountancy from the Hong Kong Baptist University.

Michael Kam

Michael Kam joined NF Trinity in 2023.

Prior to his tenure at NF Trinity, Michael thrived as an entrepreneur in the tech and media sectors. He has years of experiences in crafting international and regional business partnerships, leading various companies in their global expansion and local integration. In addition, Michael played pivotal roles in cross-border business associations spanning Hong Kong, China, and the US, driving collaboration initiatives.

Michael earned his MBA from the Yale School of Management and a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. He also earned a professional certificate in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence from MIT. Michael is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
